US theme parks to thrill Arab world
The world’s largest theme park company is to build a multi-billion dirham Dubailand project as the first step in an expansion across the Arab world.
Tatweer on Tuesday announced an agreement with the US-based Six Flags to create a series of ‘thrill-driven’ destinations across the region.
The five-million square feet Six Flags Dubailand theme park will be the first Six Flags project outside of North America, offering entertainment franchises including the children’s musical group ‘Wiggles’ and professional skateboarder Tony Hawk.
Tatweer and Six Flags will also work on further theme parks, branded restaurants, hotels and retail outlets across the region.
Work on the Dubailand project is expected to begin in 2009, the companies said in a statement. Source
