E-ducation Without Borders forum opened

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research today opened the fourth international students forum "E-ducation Without Borders 2007", organised by the Higher Colleges of Technology.In the keynote address, Sheikh Nahyan emphasised the great attention given by President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to education and nurturing of talents in the UAE.

Sheikh Nahyan also thanked General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces for his unlimited support to the event which is being attended by about 1,000 students from 110 countries.He was followed by the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Professor Muhammad Yunus who stressed the students' role in community development.He highlighted his personal experience as the founder and Managing Director of the Grameen Bank - a bank that offers small loans for self-employment for the rural poor, especially poor women.
