DP World - UAE records 17pc grwoth in 2006
DP World - UAE has announced a 17 per cent growth in yearly shipping throughput to 8.92 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) in 2006, up from 7.62 million TEUs in 2005 making it the 8th largest port globally according to Containerisation International. The leading port operator attributed the increase to the strong economic development in the GCC region that has boosted demand for shipping services.Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior VP & MD, DP World - UAE, said: "It has been an exciting year for our company.
