Plan to develop and modernise the court complex

The Dubai Courts yesterday unveiled the largest-ever plan to develop and modernise the court complex at a total cost of Dh5.5 million.

The Director-General of Dubai Courts Department, Dr. Ahmed bin Hazeem, told a press conference that construction work would commence next April and the project is expected to be completed in nine months.

He added that the upgradation plan features a new-look main lounge with 22 counters, including three for urgent transactions.

“As there is no room for expansion in the current buildings between the Al Maktoum Bridge and the Floating Bridge, the department heads plan to move to another building but that will take at least three years,” he said.

He disclosed that the design contract has been awarded to Ital Design which beat 10 other companies that had responded to the tender.‘

The project aims at satisfying the needs of the department, improving performance and creating a favourable work environment,” he explained.

“An agreement has been made with the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) to build a parking facility for 50 cars. A minibus service will start on Sunday for shuttling clients from the nearby Creek Park parking facility to the courts complex,” he indicated. Source
