Dubai Municipality new real estate and infrastructure development plans

Dubai Municipality has come up with plans to build two new residential areas in Dubai, one in Al Khawaneej and the other between Al Barsha and Dubailand. The construction is part of emirate’s real estate development programme within its Dh3 billion budget for the year 2008.
Hussain Nasser Lootah, Acting Director-General, Dubai Municipality, said, “We have sent details of these new areas to the government for approval. After that land in these areas will be granted to UAE nationals”.

Dubai Municipality also has plans to develop 15 new parks at a cost of Dh100 million within the city, Dh 500 million worth Dubai Zoo in Dubailand, an Olympic-sized swimming pool with capacity for 15,000 spectators and a public library housing more than 1.72 million books. Source
