Sheikh Mayed inaugurates Used Books Festival
Sheikh Mayed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Saturday evening inaugurated the Used Books Festival, which is being organised by the Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage in collaboration with the ministry of education, Dubai's Department of Lands and Properties and the Culture and Science Forum.
Minister of Education, Dr. Hanif Hassan Ali, Juma Al Majid, Chairman of Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage and other dignitaries, attended the inauguration of the three-day festival, which attracted a large number of participants and sponsors from the scientific, cultural and commercial institutions in the country.
Sheikh Mayed praised the festival for its noble objective of helping to boost the spreading of the culture of reading and giving among students. He said the festival is a social partnership by a number of social, educational and cultural institutions.
The education minister, in a keynote address, expressed gratitude and deep appreciation to Sheikh Mayed. He commended the Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture and heritage and its collaborators for their efforts. (WAM)
