Middle East Electricity Exhibition 2008
After last year's success at the Middle East Electricity Exhibition and Conference (MEEE), Ducab, the leading manufacturer of high quality power cables in the Middle East, will once again be a prominent participant of this year's four day event.
From the 10th to 13th February 2008, Ducab will be showcasing its entire range of cable solutions at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
Known to exhibitors and visitors as the one of the region's most important energy and lighting exhibition, the MEEE 33rd edition of the show is the largest to date.
Commenting on Ducab's participation, Ducab's Managing Director, Andrew Shaw said: "MEEE is the region's leading energy exhibition attended by industry professionals from around the world. It is a platform for creating opportunities for business and growth. It is imperative for all industry players to share knowledge and insights into the latest technological developments and products. We are, once again, thrilled to be part of this event." "The MEEE exhibition targets the increasing demand and related problems of the region's power requirements; the Middle East's demand for energy is expected to grow at approximately 10 per cent per annum over the next 10 years. According to a survey carried by a leading UAE bank, in just four years the UAE's capacity for electricity will have to increase by 60% to 26,000 megawatts," added Shaw.
Andrew Shaw continued: "Dubai has the greatest demand growth at the moment and is growing at about 12 to 14% a year compared with other areas. Ducab is working to meet the nation's requirements and our AED 660 million expansion last year in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, doubling our capacity, clearly demonstrates this commitment. I believe that this year's MEEE will benefit all visitors and exhibitors and we look forward to showcasing our latest products." Established in 1979, Ducab is the leading cable manufacturing company in the GCC and is equally owned by the Government of Dubai and Government of Abu Dhabi. Its product range covers low voltage power cables, control and auxiliary cables, wiring and lead-sheathed cables, Ducab Powerplus medium voltage cables (up to 33kV) and Ducab Smokemaster, low smoke and fume cables. In addition, it supplies Ducab Connect cable components and accessories.
Middle East Electricity 2008 will feature over 35,000 industry professionals from more than 95 countries, the biggest names in the global energy industry, 850 exhibitors from over 55 countries and 18 National Pavilions all spread across 34,000sqm of floor space. (WAM)
