DMC finalises strategic development plan for new facilities

Dubai Maritime City, the world's first purpose-built maritime centre and member of the Dubai World Group of companies, has announced that it has finalised the strategic development plan for the maritime city's integrated Utilities area, while excavation and piping works for core infrastructure facilities are now near completion.

Dubai Maritime City's Utilities area has been strategically planned to provide centralised distribution of all utility services for the city, incorporating the core infrastructure for the Water Division, district cooling, sewage, drainage, irrigation and Utility Tunnel. The development plan for the centralised public services network, waste disposal and collection system, pedestrian facilities, public transport systems and recreational amenities have also been finalised.

"Dubai Maritime City has been planned with the welfare of residents as the main consideration. Providing amenities for a premium standard of living boosts the maritime city's reputation as a premier investment and business destination,'' said Amer Ali, CEO, Dubai Maritime City.

''Dubai Maritime City is steadily taking shape and gradually revealing its high level of sophistication, and we are delighted to have achieved such an excellent pace with the infrastructure development,'' Ali added. (WAM)

On completion, DMC will encompass Harbour Offices, Harbour Residences, the Maritime Centre, an Academic Quarter, a Marina District, and the industrial quarter managed by Jadaf Dubai. DMC will also showcase the UAE's first National Maritime Museum, a range of iconic infrastructure, and the Gulf region?s largest ship lift for ship repair and maintenance. (WAM)
