Dubai Industrial City establishes Dubai Industrial Academy

Dubai Industrial City announced today the setting up of the Dubai Industrial Academy, a dedicated vocational training centre that will focus on providing a wide range of training solutions to serve the growing needs of the industrial sector in the UAE and the region.

Rashed Al Ansari, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Industrial City, which operates under the umbrella of Tatweer, stated that the city has decided to set up the new facility will help provide a continuous pipeline of technically qualified people to the industrial sector as well as upgrade the skills of the workforce in DI and beyond.
"Vocational training is a vital aspect of industrial development and this is a client and industry-focused and specialised service that we are offering across the UAE that distinguishes us in the market as we work towards raising the skills and competence level of people working in the industrial sector, especially in areas of quality, health, safety and the environment (QHSE)," Al Ansari said.
He added: "We have partnered with the UK-based Technical Training Centre (TTE) for the set up of the Dubai Industrial Academy as they command extensive experience in industrial training, having earned the 'Centre of Vocational Excellence' from the UK Government. The academy will offer a wide range of courses that meet the needs of the various industrial sectors that are presented across the UAE." He pointed out that the final aim is to develop an "inclusive approach" to industrial training and that was the reason the academy was set up, to offer a mix of class room teaching and primarily hands-on practical skills training in a dedicated training centre located at the headquarters of Dubai Industrial City.
He said the TTE would bring in its extensive international experience in industrial vocational training as well as in training consultancy services that is much needed in the UAE market.
"Industrial consultancy in fields such as competency systems and safe systems of work complement the vocational training we provide and offer companies a wider training option that covers the spectrum of issues that are relevant to their daily operations," Al Ansari added.
Located adjacent to the Al Maktoum International Airport (Dubai World Central) and close to Jebel Ali Port with easy accessibility to major highways, the 560 million square feet Dubai Industrial City is a dedicated industrial destination comprising six industrial clusters featuring food and beverage, base metal, mineral products, chemicals, transport equipment and parts, and machinery and mechanical equipment.
Complementary facilities for logistics, warehousing, labour cities, in addition to commercial, residential and entertainment zones, position Dubai Industrial City as a comprehensive one stop-shop destination.
