Law on domestic helpers-sponsors' rights

The federal cabinet has decided to set up a taskforce to draft a law regulating the relationship between domestic helpers and their sponsors as part of the council's serious efforts to upgrade legislations dealing with workforce. The proposed law will reconsider rights and duties of both sides so as to guarantee their interests and rights.
The cabinet has assigned Lt.General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, to formulate a team made up of representatives from the ministries of interior, labour and justice to enact the legislation.

According to its mandate,the team will present proposals on provisions that will be embodied in the domestic helpers' regulation law.
In setting regulations regarding rights and duties of domestic helpers and their sponsors, the team will be guide by local and international legislations and systems. Source
