UAE Premier launches campaign to provide education for 1+ million children worldwide
H. H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Wednesday launched the "Dubai Cares" Campaign to raise funds for primary education for needy children in poor countries around the world.
Announcing the charity drive in Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed delivered a speech before an audience of more than 1500 individuals of various races, faiths and social rankings.
The said campaign which will run throughout the holy month of Ramadan will help over 1 million children and assist countries in achieving their U.N. Millennium Development Goals for providing Children's Primary Education to every child by 2015. Source
