More donations for the Dubai Cares Campaign
Donations from the corporate sector and individuals have started to pour in for the Dubai Cares campaign unveiled on Wednesday by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The campaign, which expresses Dubai’s will to play an effective role in securing a better tomorrow for future generations, aims to raise funds for primary education for around one million needy children in poor countries around the world.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem announced that he will contribute an annual amount of Dh 20 million in support of the 'Dubai Cares' campaign.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum announced his donation of ten million Dirhams to the Charity drive of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid aimed at providing primary education for one million children worldwide.
Mohammed Juma Al Nabooda, a local businessman yesterday announced a contribution of Dh10 million for the Dubai Cares campaign, while Emaar Industries and Investments (EII), a subsidiary of Emaar Properties PJSC, has contributed Dh1 million to the campaign.
Meanwhile, the Dubai Ruler has officially assigned his sons and daughters to lead charity efforts as part of the ‘Dubai Cares’ campaign.
They will champion donation efforts in various sectors across Dubai including government departments, public and private sector organisations, corporate community, sports and education sectors among others.
Launching the campaign, Shaikh Mohammed announced that he along with his sons and daughters, will play an active role in ensuring the success of the campaign.
