Ministry of Government Sector signs agreement with Microsoft

The Ministry of Development for Government Sector has signed a strategic agreement with Microsoft Gulf, whereby the IT leader will provide technical support and training for the Ministry employees to use advanced software in a thoroughly professional environment. The agreement will also complement the e-Government initiative of the UAE.
Eng. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Development for Government Sector, signed the agreement with Charbel Fakhoury, General Manager, Microsoft Gulf.
As per the agreement, the Ministry of Development for Government sector will support the copyrights of Microsoft software programs, and enhance awareness on the need for IT systems in federal ministries.

Al Mansouri said: "The agreement with Microsoft reflects the UAE's keenness to update and develop the performance of the federal ministries. This is in line with the UAE Government Strategy to encourage the federal employees to use the most advanced software and be committed to copyrights." He added: "The agreement's objective is to encourage federal ministries to use the latest computer programmes that are needed to serve their daily work requirements and align with the fast pace of development taking place in the UAE. We are very keen to offer an ideal work environment for the federal ministries by developing the employee's knowledge and offering them latest technologies and creating strategic partnerships with the private sector." Mr Fakhoury added: "Microsoft supports governments by offering them the latest developments in IT. Our partnership with the Ministry of Development will help develop and enhance the performance of the federal ministries."
