'Dubai Cares' charity drive inspires people

The charity drive launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai under the slogan 'Dubai Cares' is continuing to inspire people of all nationalities, ethnicities and faiths. The unique charity drive aimed at helping poor children around the world to obtain primary education has been accepted as the best long term solution to alleviate poverty.
Sheikh Mohammed's call to break the cycle of global poverty through education and achieve the U.N. Millennium Development Goals for providing Children's Primary Education to every child by 2015, brought immediate response from several circles.
Inspired by the call in the month of Ramadan, Maj.Gen. Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan promised to pay, on his and his family's behalf, ten million Dirhams every year to the 'Dubai Cares' charity Fund to provide primary education to one million children worldwide.
