Dubai World Cup in March next year

The 2008 Dubai World Cup will be held on Saturday, March 29,2008 after the Board of Directors for the Emirates Racing Authority today released fixtures for the 2007-08 UAE racing season.The world's richest day's racing, sponsored by Emirates Airline, will be the highlight of 49 race meetings this season, hosted by the four racing clubs of the United Arab Emirates, the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, Dubai Racing Club, Jebel Ali Racecourse and Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.The season will open at Nad Al Sheba on Thursday, November 8, the first of 21 fixtures there. The opening 10 make up the Winter Racing Challenge, before the Dubai International Racing Carnival commences on Thursday, January 17, with the first rounds of the Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum Challenge.The 10 2008 DIRC fixtures will be held on the corresponding weekends to that of last season, and climaxes with the UAE Oaks meeting on Thursday, March 6.Jebel Ali will host the first of their 10 meetings on Friday, November 23, while Abu Dhabi stages 15 fixtures, commencing on Sunday, November 11. The Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club will host one additional meeting this year, bringing the total to three, all of which will be held on Saturdays, the first of which is on December 15. Source
