UAE and France ink extradition and judicial cooperation agreements

The UAE and France have signed agreements for extradition of criminals and judicial cooperation in criminal matters.UAE and French Justice Ministers Mohammed bin Nakheera Al Dhaheri and Paskal Clement signed the two agreements at the French Justice Ministry here on Wednesday.Al Dhaheri said the signing of the two agreements would consolidate the distinguished relations between the two countries which are bound by an agreement for judicial cooperation in civil and trading matters.Al Dhaheri said such agreements were destined to boost bilateral and international cooperation in combating crime and chasing of criminals. To ensure effective implementation of these two agreements, the UAE has issued a set of national laws covering money laundering, terrorist crimes, human trafficking, and finally a law on international cooperation in criminal matters," he said.He expressed hope that the two agreements would enhance justice in both the UAE and France and boost their bilateral relations.For his part, the French Minister hailed the signing of the two agreements as a landmark in the progress of relations between the two countries as they "set the legal framework for boosting our judicial cooperation".
