New law for Municipal Affairs

President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, signed today a new law for establishing municipal affairs department to restructure the operational model of the municipalities in the Emirate in a way to cope with the increasing requirements of the development and the provision of distinguished local services for the people of the Emirate.The new model consists of three administratively independent municipalities, And the whole process of shifting to the new operational model will be completed by the end of 2008.On the other hand, President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, issued a decree appointing Jawaan Salem Al Dhahiri as the head of Municipal Affairs Department,Ahmed Mohammed Shareef as undersecretary for Municipal Affairs , Juma'a Mubarak AL Junaibi as General Director for Abu Dhabi Municipality and Khalifa Hasoom Al Darmaki as General Director of Al Ain Municipality.
