Decree on Food Control Authority

President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as the Ruler of Abu Dhabi issued a decree No.5 for 2007 amending some of the provisions of law regarding the establishment of Food Control Authority.Article 1 of the law gives the Authority the power of control and the right to issue regulations and decisions for food consumed by humans, as well as all kinds of meat .

Food Control Authority has also been empowered to issue licenses regarding related activities.The new law states that whoever violates the rules of this law will be penalized by three months of imprisonment , 1000 dirhams fine or both punishments, with the possibility of confiscating the commodities and equipment involved.
