No pay rise for nurses
Reports of a pay rise for nurses working under the Ministry of Health are in dispute, after a government official rebuffed claims of a plan to increase staff salaries.A spokesperson for the department of nursing at the ministry of health denied any knowledge of an upcoming pay rise, saying there had been no formal confirmation of any salary increase or additional benefits.The statement contradicts comments given by Dr Abdul Gaffar Al Hawi, assistant undersecretary for curative medicine, at the 7th GCC Nursing Symposium. Speaking to the press, Dr Al Hawi outlined plans to increase salaries for government nurses by up to 30%, alongside a new benefits package to include a housing and furnishing allowance for government nurses not residing in on-site hospital accommodation. Hello,
I think that is wrong to not increase the salaries of nurses. Last week the police's salaries have been raised. In my opinion health workers should have priority as life savers. Of course the police is guarding the security, but the both professions should be at least equally rewarded. I don't mean to criticize as it's understandable from the article that is only matter of time, but prioritise.
