Dubai Knowledge Village Explores Partnership with WBI

World Bank Institute (WBI) and discuss opportunities of collaboration on the transfer and dissemination of knowledge. With its head office based in Washington DC, the WBI is the capacity development arm of the World Bank. It facilitates countries share and apply global and local knowledge to meet development challenges.
Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director of Knowledge Village, received WBI MENA Regional Coordinator, Tatyana Leonova and briefed her on the UAE's education sector and DKV's activities and strategic vision. "Dubai Knowledge Village is keen on forging a network of strategic partnerships with renowned institutions to help create synergies for knowledge development," Dr. Ayoub said. "Our meeting with the World Bank Institute helped us explore the exchange of global best practices and experiences that are relevant to the local scenario," he added. The WBI began as the Economic Development Institute in 1955. It now reaches more than 90,000 people a year through more than 800 activities, including policymakers in all economic sectors, mid-level and high-level government officials, parliamentarians, members of the judiciary, journalists, civil society leaders, and other opinion makers involved in developing their communities. WBI accomplishes its goals through training courses and seminars, policy advice, technical assistance and long-term relationships with service delivery institutions and capacity building organizations.To extend its reach, the Institute also delivers mass products to selected clients, using information technologies, mass media, and other knowledge-sharing instruments.
