New judicial fees being levied by federal courts

Federal courts have started levying new fees, ranging between Dh 200 and 5,000, on judicial services, implementing the federal law No (2) for 2007 dealing with such fees.
The law, however, exempts suits at various federal courts concerning workers, maintenance, converting to Islam and social assistance certificates.
A fee of Dh200 will be charged for explanation of verdicts and an application for attestation. The same amount will be charged for authentication of contracts and statement of evidence in personal status cases and for appeal in personal status cases with the exception of cases on maintenance.
A fixed fee of Dh200 will be levied at cassation courts on verdicts issued on personal status cases. For maintenance cases, Dh5,000 will be charged. A Dh 1,000 fee will be charged for suspension of a judgment with regard to challenge at cassation courts.
According to the fee structure, a sum of Dh3,000 is needed for total primary lawsuits, Dh500 for declaration of civil insolvency cases and Dh500 for cases about declaration of bankruptcy or preventive reconciliation from bankruptcy. All judicial procedures are covered by this fee except charges for publication in the media.A fixed amount of Dh5,000 will be collected for challenges with regard to verdicts issued by prompt action. A sum of Dh1,000 will be charged for challenge against verdicts issued by an executing judge. Other kinds of appeals require a fee of Dh1,000. Source
