Dubai eGovernment recently received an 11-member Singaporean delegation led by the Senior Director for Information & Corporate Management at the Ministry of Information, Communications & the Arts (MICA), Rear Admiral (NS) Sim Gim Guan that visited Dubai eGovernment to study various elements of the eGovernment initiative in the emirate.
The visit by the Singaporean delegation to Dubai eGovernment was closely followed by a Kuwaiti delegation representing the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The Kuwaiti delegation comprised of Taufik Saoud Al Zayed, Manager of Data Systems, Issam Abudullah Al Saneh, Support & Development Supervisor and Khoulud Ali Al Houweidy, Software Programmer.
“We were pleased to welcome the Kuwaiti and Singaporean delegations to Dubai eGovernment and to provide them with a detailed overview of the range of services we offer. Dubai eGovernment being the pioneer in the region to adopt electronic governance is seen as an exemplary model and we are glad to share our knowledge and experience with other countries,” said Salem Al Shair, eServices Director, Dubai eGovernment.
“Dubai eGovernment serves as a link between the various government departments in the emirate and integrates these individually automated departments under the single umbrella of the eGovernment initiative,” added Al Shair.
Rear Admiral (NS) Sim Gim Guan said, “Our visit to Dubai eGovernment, which was part of the structured training programme for our Information Officers, proved to be extremely informative as we got a first hand account of the working of Dubai eGovernment. Dubai eGovernment has led the way in eGovernment implementation in the region and we were keen on learning from their experiences. The exposure gained by this visit could prove invaluable to the team and we look forward to similar opportunities in future.”
