• Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation announced yesterday the programme “ Tarjama” (Translation), which aims to enhance and contribute to the translation scene in the Arabic world by training translators.
• The Arabic Cultural Club inaugurates the Literary Salon entitled “Literature & Art Forum” as part of the events of the Arabic Cultural Evenings. The Literary Salon will be holding its first activity at 8:30pm on Friday 2/5/2008.

The events will start with a lecture in Arabic entitled “The Female Literature in Syria” at 7:30pm.

• The Emirate of Dubai will host the inaugural Emirates Airline International Festival of Literature (EAIFL), where some of the world’s literary talents will be participating. The event will take place from February 25 to March 01, 2009.

• The Dubai public libraries have updated their website to include access to a series of databases on various subjects.

• Children’s City in Dubai has set a weekly programme for students to visit the “Sue” Dinosaur exhibition which is created by the Field Museum of Chicago, USA, and runs until May 23, 2008.
• Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research , an exhibition of Roaming Nobel Museum entitled “Alfred Nobel: Networks of Innovation” opened at Dubai Men’s College on March 30, 2008. The exhibition runs for two months.
