du, the new telecommunications operator in the UAE, announced that a record 3,800 CVs were received from visitors to the du stand over three days, at the recently conducted 8th Annual Careers UAE 2008. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, visited the du stand.
Fahad Al Hassawi, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, du said: “Our participation in Careers UAE 2008 & the previous career fairs is an important means of getting in touch with National talent, enabling us to qualitatively increase the Emiratization percentage in the company.”
“Our participation provides us with new insights which will assist us in constantly updating our Emiratization programme, as we remain committed to supporting His Highness Sheikh Mohammed's vision of providing attractive opportunities for Emirati jobseekers,” he added. "A dedicated team from du’s National Recruitment & Development department will process the CVs and contact the candidates to brief them on the available opportunities."
The CVs will be assessed and channelled through two avenues at du: Direct recruitment for those that have the necessary qualification to fill vacancies available, and through 'Masar' the Training Programme and Development Plan for fresh graduates.
