Mohammed bin Zayed launches Prestige Jet
Prestige Jet, a private jet aviation company operating out of Abu Dhabi International Airport , was launched on Tuesday evening at a special ceremony attended by General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces .
The launch ceremony at Al Bateen Airport here was also attended by Dr. Ali Al Kaabi, Minister of Labour, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Governmental Sector development and Chairman of the general Civil aviation authority, Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, UAE Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Ghaith bin Hamel Al Ghaith, Chairman of Prestige Jet, senior aviation executives and VIPS.
The launch ceremony at Al Bateen Airport here was also attended by Dr. Ali Al Kaabi, Minister of Labour, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Governmental Sector development and Chairman of the general Civil aviation authority, Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, UAE Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Ghaith bin Hamel Al Ghaith, Chairman of Prestige Jet, senior aviation executives and VIPS.
Al Ghaith praised Sheikh Mohammed and Abu Dhabi Government for supporting national companies. "Obtaining the air operator certificate is a testimony to our commitment to superb security and safety standards," he said.
Al Ghaith said the Company's five-year plan was based on a commitment to providing unrivaled service and an ambitious fleet development programme. "We aspire to expand our fleet to nine aircraft by 2009," he said.
Prestige Jet has recently signed an agreement with Flight Ambulance International (FAI), a world leader in medical evacuation and repatriation services. Under the terms of the agreement, Prestige Jet became the exclusive representative for FAI in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain and will offer a worldwide air ambulance service for patients, to transport them between the two cities and any destination in the world.
Sheikh Mohammed then inspected the company's fleet and was briefed by CEO Faris Deeb, on the technical and operational specifications of the fleet. (WAM)
