• Dubai Libraries have launched the summer activities program under the theme (Today’s Reader is Tomorrow’s Leader). The courses program will extend from June 22 to July 31, 2008. For further information, please visit: www.dm.gov.ae

• The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation, in cooperation with Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage, hosts poet Karim Al Iraqi for a poetry recitation evening today at the foundation’s premises on Rigga Street. An art exhibition of Saudi artist Sara Al Sahli will also be opened today at the foundation.

• A press conference will be held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel on June 10, 2008 to announce the launch of The inaugural Emirates Airline International Festival of Literature (EAIFL), where some of the world’s literary talents will be participating. The event will take place in Dubai from February 25 to March 01, 2009.

• The first Documentary Films Initiative in the UAE will be held from 4 – 7 July 2008, at the Dubai Community Theater and Art Center of the Emirates Mall.
