Emirates Foundation hosts Pan Arab Philanthropy meeting

The Emirates Foundation, one of the leading philanthropic institutions in the UAE, today hosted the first ever meeting in the UAE of the Arab Foundations Forum - the body coordinating philanthropic organisations across the Arab world.

The purpose of the gathering was to discuss the entire range of challenges faced by the sector, and how better to cooperate, in order to achieve better results for the many programmes being undertaken in the various countries taking part.

Institutions represented at the forum came from Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine and the UAE.

Maytha Al Habsi, Director of Fundraising and Communications at the Emirates Foundation, welcomed the Forum delegates. "The Forum offers an ideal opportunity for information exchange and future cooperation, especially in the fields of project assessment and feasibility studies," she said. "We look forward to further involvement with our colleagues at other Forum meetings," she added.

Khuloud Al Nuwais, Emirates Foundation Director of Projects, then briefed the participants on the activities and achievements of the Foundation since its creation in 2005. (WAM)
