Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, opened the' New Arab Woman Forum' at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai today.
The Forum is organized by Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group and Al Hasnaa magazine, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Arab League, ESCWA, V-Day Karama, Diplomatic Ladies Association - Dubai and North Emirates and media partner MBC1.
The delegates presented Princess Haya with the prize of the Forum in appreciation to her efforts and support in organising the event.
The New Arab Woman brings together more than 500 high profile delegates and speakers from 30 Arab and foreign countries. Invitees include women government ministers and parliamentarians, NGO heads, and renowned actresses, artists and journalists, as well as businessmen and other specialists. The forum promises to be one of the major events on the 2007 conference agenda, combining relevance, caliber, advantage, placement power and excellent organization.
The forum will emphasize the fundamental role of the Arab woman and her various powers and abilities in leadership, management, politics, business, education, media, beauty, and the problems she encounters.
In her inaugural speech which was delivered by Raja Al Qarq on behalf her, Princess Haya shed light on the achievements of women in UAE and cited examples like the role of women in politics and business. Source
