Dubai to open three Offices to solve labour issues

The permanent committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai has decided to open three offices to facilitate the regularization procedures within the amnesty period announced by the country. The decision to give the illegal immigrants a period of three months to regularize their residence or to leave the country without penalty was taken by the cabinet earlier this month.
At a meeting presided by Chairman of the Permanent Committee Brig. Mohammed Ahmad Al Marri, they also decided to set up inspection teams to ensure that the firms employing workers are abiding by the rules to give them rest at peak hours of heat during summer. The inspection teams are authorized to penalize all those employers violating the rules.Brig.
Al Marri noted that the country is always keen to safeguard the labour rights.The Permanent committee also decided to carry out media campaigns with the help of non-Arab media in an effort to create awareness about labour rights and duties. Source
