DSC to Issue licenses for Filming and cinematography

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has issued a decree mandating Dubai Studio City, a member of TECOM Investments, as the sole authority for issuing licenses for filming, photography and cinematography activities in the emirate. The directive covers all types of filming for commercial, TV or cinema productions in Dubai. The decision will help speed up the process of issuing permissions through the Location Approval Services (LAS) department, Dubai Studio City's one stop shop services unit.Dubai Studio City will process the approvals required from government departments. LAS will acquire the necessary approvals and permissions for production and filming on behalf of the applicant.This decision comes within the frame work of Dubai's strategy to attract and encourage local , regional and international artistic productions.
