The IDEX exhibition has established itself as a premier defence show, providing an invaluable opportunity for world's leading defence manufacturers to showcase their latest technological innovations, according to General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior.Speaking on the sidelines of the 8th edition of the biannual International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2007) which opened on Sunday, Sheikh Saif said the show also offers an opportunity for the UAE military , the police and security forces to familiarise themselves with the latest advances in their areas of specialties."The fact that this show is hosted by the UAE is an advantages to our forces as well as to our GCC counterparts. Instead for taking the extra burden of traveling to other countries to attend the exhibitions, they can just visit IDEX and acquaint themselves with the latest developments", said Sheikh Saif.One of the marked features of IDEX, said Sheikh Saif, is the live demonstrations that are held during the show.
