The pay hikes for civilian federal employees and personnel of the Interior Ministry, ordered by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, have been included in the 2008 budget, according to Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, deputy ruler of Dubai and UAE minister of finance and industry.
Sheikh Hamdan said that his ministry finalized all procedure for payment of the increases, starting from January salaries. The budget also featured the increase in social aid, recently ordered by Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Dr Mohammed Khalfan bin Kharbash, minister of state for financial and industrial affairs, said that the 2008 budget included all pledged allocations to implement strategic objectives for the year. (WAM)
