Al Jaber Group has signed an Dhs.1.1 billion (USD300 million) deal with Embraer, one of the world's largest manufacturers of commercial jets, to purchase seven aircrafts that will power Al Jaber's private jet service.

Obeid Al Jaber, Chairman, Al Jaber Group, and Luis Carlos Affonso, Embraer Executive Vice President Executive Aviation, announced the deal at the 2007 Dubai Air Show, today. Al Jaber has also placed options on two more Lineage 1000 and one Legacy 600.
"Our new aviation division is focused on providing the most luxurious flying experience for our clients, and it is imperative that we tie-up with the world's leading aircraft manufacturers to assure top-notch quality - both in terms of the product and service," Al Jaber said, adding that ?Embraer has a sterling reputation and our partnership reiterates our commitment to making a difference in the private jet service sector of the region.? Also commenting on the deal, Mohamed Al Jaber, CEO of Al Jaber Group, said: ?Our decision to partner with Embraer was taken after a detailed study, market analysis and aircraft assessment. With the Legacy 600 and the new Lineage 1000, Al Jaber Group can bring in a new level of world-class service to the region.? Luis Carlos Affonso, Embraer Executive Vice President Executive Aviation, said the deal was the largest single order for Embraer executive jets in the Middle East region, adding: ?It also reflects a strong indication that our products are perfectly responding to the customer expectations in this market. This market is a very demanding one where the customers usually place a strong emphasis on value for money. We are thus specially happy and proud of the confidence Al Jaber Group has placed on us by ordering such a large number of aircraft.? Al Jaber Group will take delivery of its first Legacy 600 during the first half of 2009. The first Lineage 1000 will follow during the first half of 2010.
