Restructuring plans for the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Federal National Council as well as amendments to Federal Law No. 31/1999 were discussed, among other federal issues and plans, by the UAE Cabinet at a meeting Sunday presided over by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The Cabinet also ratified a treaty signed by the UAE and Russia on extradition and fighting crime as well as a draft agreement on reciprocal legal, extradition, civil, criminal and trade cooperation and assistance with Yemen and Afghanistan.
The Cabinet approved amendments to Federal Law No. 31/1999 on creating a federal water and electricity authority. A new article formulated at today's meeting to allow investors form the private sector to get involved in the production and distribution of water and electricity in the country.
Federal Cabinet's Resolution No. 27/ 2001on personnel and financial regulations were also amended today by the Cabinet. A new 3-year structure of Emirates Post Holding Group and the financial regulations of UAE's Zakat Fund were also approved. Source
