Celebrating the spirit of generosity during the holy month of Ramadan, du, the UAE’s new telecom operator, will contribute the proceeds from the first SMS sent by each of its subscribers every day during the holy month to the UAE Red Crescent Society, at the end of Ramadan. The amount contributed by du to charity for each SMS will be 18 fils for both national and international SMS sent.
Commenting on this humanitarian initiative, Osman Sultan, CEO du said, “du is committed to giving back to the community. We believe our contribution will bring joy to many and make a difference in their lives, while making our customers feel good about indirectly contributing to a worthy cause as well.”
Hala Badri, Vice President for Corporate Communications said: “The campaign has achieved overwhelming success since its launch and provides further encouragement for people to participate and contribute to the welfare of the underprivileged just by sending an SMS during the day.” Source
