Police Women Council can better resolve issues related to women

Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, has said that the changes witnessed in the UAE community had necessitated the establishment of a Police Women Council, to help tackle social issues related to women.
Dhahi Khalfan said this while chairing the first meeting of the Police Women Council yesterday.
"We know the challenges faced by working women. Women can better tackle women's issues and narrate their problems to the officials," he said, while stressing that UAE women are well qualified and have proved their mettle in all fields.
Dr Abdul Qoudus Abdul Rasiq, director of General Department of Quality at the Dubai Police, said the Police Women Council had 15 women members, eight from the police and seven from the community.
The Council will involve women in dealing with security issues related to family and help enhance communication between police and the community.
Khula Lootah, who was elected vice-president of the Council, said the organisation would spread social awareness among community members and work in coordination with social sectors. Source
