CNN International is to launch a business show dedicated to the Middle East.
CNN Marketplace Middle East will begin broadcasting on September 28 and will be hosted by business correspondent John Defterios, from the broadcaster's London production centre.
The 15 minute show will focus on business news from the region, including currencies, commodities and bond markets as well as winners and losers of the week, and feature regular interviews with major players from the region’s business community.
It will be Aired twice on Fridays and repeated Saturdays and Sundays.
It is expected that similar regional shows for business audiences in China, India and Latin America will be rolled out at a later date.
Debra Kocher, executive producer, said the programme had been created for a global audience and would look at deals that reach outside of the region.
Current developments in the Middle Eastern market are having a profound impact on the rest of the global business community, so it makes sense for CNN to provide its audience of 'global citizens' with a specialised regional update of this increasingly influential business market," she said. Source
