A permission from Land Department in Dubai will be necessary for freehold homeowners before they can be able to rent out premises . The new rule , according to Gulf News, will be effective from next year .
The paper said that Dubai's rental market will be tightened up under the new regulations that Dubai Land Department is going to impose with effect from 2008.
Under these regulations , homeowners who want to lease out a property will first have to apply for permit from the Land Department and then will have to register any subsequent rental contract they want to sign with tenants .
"At that point the Land Department may impose restrictions on the terms of lease , such as the number of tenants allowed per unit and who can occupy a unit " Gulf News said According to the news paper , the service which will affect thousands of people who rent out property , will be free of charge.
