The Ministry of Economy has rejected a request from water purification companies to increase retail prices. Dr. Hashim Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director of Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry said the request had been turned down because it would have negative effects on consumers.He said explained that the Ministry has asked the companies to present detailed reports about production costs and company budgets so that an assessment is made as to whether such a hike would be necessary.
