Dubai Municipality has started taking legal action against the industrial establishments and owners of workshops and warehouses, who failed to shift the accommodation provided to labourers inside their premises within the stipulated time.Eng. Salem Bin Mesmar, Director of Public Health Department in the Municipality and Chairman of the Labour Environment and Hygiene Follow up Committee said that the 90 days grace period given to these establishments to shift the labour accommodations from their premises ended on 18th May. He said the Municipality will set up a technical team comprising of the departments of Buildings, Public Health and Environment to count the number of accommodations currently exist in the premises of the industrial establishments, workshops and warehouses.The team will also evaluate the hygienic conditions in these establishments in order to take appropriate legal actions against the violators in coordination with the Permanent Committee on Labour Affairs in the Emirate of Dubai.
