H.H.Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid approves plans of new road network

Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, has approved plans and designs of new roads and bridges network which form an extension of the Business Bay mega project being executed by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai.The 2.5-kilometre long and about 100-metre wide canal, which link the Business Bay and Arab Gulf across the Sheikh Zayed Road, is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010.Sheikh Mohammed reviewed the details of the project with RTA Chief Executive and board Chairman, Matar Mohammed Al Tayer, who put the total cost of the waterway project at over one billion dirhams.Al Tayer said the RTA had lined up a number of projects in line with the directives of Sheikh Mohammed, adding that the projects include bridges, pedestrian walkways, green landscape to add to the beauty and attraction of Dubai.
