National Bank of Dubai and Emirates Bank International, plan to merge to compete more effectively at home and abroad.
The UAE economy surged 8.9pc last year at the third-fastest pace in at least five years, according to the economy ministry. Growth will ease to 6.2pc, Economy Minister Lubna Al Qassimi said this month.
