All media activities in UAE free zones to be approved by National Media Council: UAE Cabinet

The UAE Cabinet took a decision, at its meeting on March 18th 2007, making it a prerequisite for all free zones in the UAE to obtain the written approval of the National Media Council (NMC) before the issuance of any media licenses related to radio and television broadcasting activities and the publication of newspapers, magazines, periodicals and books. The Cabinet said that all other related media activities in the free zones should also comply with the effective relevant laws and regulations. Source WAM
